This weekend saw the opening of our new exhibition ‘Charles Darwin: evolution of a scientist’.  The opening was held on Friday night with Peter Saville providing the opening speech along with our Museum Director Nick Merriman.

Come along to the exhibition and do let us know what you think.  There will be lots of related events for everyone so check the website often!  We have also seen some great press pieces, here is one from BBC Manchester.

Its a great exhibition and we cannot wait to use it in our learning programme.  In fact, we have a special event coming up just for teachers and tutors in the Greater Manchester area.. details below

Darwin Educator Preview Event – Wednesday 21st October from 5 – 6.30pm

Come and join the Learning Team at The Manchester Museum for a special educator preview evening as part of the Darwin Extravaganza. See our new exhibition ‘Charles Darwin: evolution of a scientist’ to learn more about Charles Darwin and find out about the exciting educational opportunities for your school or college. Take part in one of our hands-on activities, handle museum objects, take a guided tour or just enjoy our exhibition.
