We were delighted to hold our graduation in such a fantastic venue as it was an exciting opportunity to celebrate the success of this cohort of pupils. The ornate Female Pool (sans water!) was a memorable setting for the graduation ceremonies.
Higher Futures 4U is a multi-strand programme, of which one strand runs through The Manchester Museum. It is a half-term-long programme that engages with Key Stage 2 pupils across Greater Manchester, and their families and teachers. The project aims to increase motivation and enthusiasm for learning, to give pupils the ability to view all of their talents and skills as intelligence, to raise aspirations which will facilitate their future choices, and to heighten awareness towards careers and the pathways to them.
The graduation is a culmination of the project for each school, and is preceded by three in-class workshops, a visit to the University of Manchester and a “World of Work” trip to a workplace where pupils interact with employees from various sectors.
In addition to the graduation ceremony, interview activities held in the Turkish Baths and Café areas had student ambassadors from the University of Manchester modelling good and bad interviewee techniques while pupils assumed the roles of interviewers.
