Ecuador Pen Pals

This summer Johan Oldekop, PHD student in the department of Life Sciences visited communities in San Jose de Payamino and Chontacocha in Ecuador.  Johan kindly delivered some resources from us to the children including felt tips, furry bugs and footballs.

Johan also took some questions from pupils at St Augustine’s Primary in Monsall, Manchester and we were delighted when Johan returned a few weeks ago with answers and drawings from the children in Ecuador.

We love the drawings of rainforest animals, the changing weather and their favourite game – Football!!

We are hoping to develop the link between children in Manchester and Ecuador and we see this as a great opportunity for the children to learn about each others environments.

You can find out lots more about the animals in Ecuador by coming to our Rainforest Big Saturday on 13th November: visit the website or see our film on YouTube.
