A Breath of Fresh Air – exploring issues surrounding medical research

DebateWhat are the issues that surround medical research into lung diseases? Work with University of Manchester researchers from ‘Team Mucus’ in interactive debates and hands-on practical workshops to explore topics such as genetic diseases, contemporary research techniques and gene therapy. 

Half day: 10am-1pm, 40 places available

10.00am      Arrive and Register

10:10am      Welcome to Manchester Museum

10.15am      Split into two groups (A & B)

– Group A: Practical Lab Activity (Lifelab)

– Group B: Debate Activity (Kanaris)

11:30am      Break (refreshments provided)

11.45am      Split into two groups (A & B)

– Group A: Debate Activity (Kanaris)

– Group B: ‘Practical Lab Activity (Lifelab)

12.45pm      Evaluation and Discussion
