Begin your day with a playful, hands-on Art School: Draw workshop at the Whitworth led by an expert artist.

Have lunch, then put your new skills into practice with self-led specimen drawing at the Museum (a ten minute walk away), guided by our teacher notes.

You might combine your time in the Museum with some activities around topics on Habitats, EvolutionClassification or Animals Including Humans.

In the summer term, you could even enter your creations in the the Nancy Rothwell Award, which celebrates specimen drawing in schools and highlights the benefits of combining art and science.

Please book your workshop direct with the Whitworth first of all via steven.roper@manchester.ac.uk, stating that you’d like to book the join ‘Drawing with Nature’ visit with Manchester Museum, and they’ll take you from there. There is a charge of £120 per class for the Whitworth workshop, and your self-led visit to the Museum is free of charge.
